The Great Pumpkin Party is a party thrown BY Valley Church FOR our community.

This year we are shakin’ things up and bringing you a totally reimagined Great Pumpkin Party focused on top-notch performers and a fun, family-friendly, community scavenger hunt. Check out all the details below.

Please note:
  • All shows are family friendly and each person needs a FREE ticket to attend, as we are limiting numbers at each performance to maintain social distancing.
  • A face covering is recommended, but not required.
  • You are welcome to attend more than one show. Please reserve tickets for each show you plan to attend.
  • All shows are approximately one hour.
Kids are invited to wear their non-scary costume and participate in a costume parade at the end of the show(s) your family attends. All kids will receive a bag with CANDY!

Note for Families with Special Needs:

We usually have a separate night of the Great Pumpkin Party for families that have a child with special needs or disabilities. This year we are spreading everyone out, so crowds are manageable no matter when you sign up. You are welcome to sign up for the showtimes that work best for your schedule!

Friday, October 16 – Friday, October 30

The Great Pumpkin Hunt is an opportunity for your family to enjoy some of the Great Pumpkin Party without leaving the comfort of your vehicle.

You will be given the locations of eleven, large pumpkin signs that will be scattered throughout the West Des Moines area from Friday, October 16 thru Friday, October 30.

As your family drives to each location, keep track of the letters you see on the pumpkins, then unscramble what they say. Enter the proper phrase for the chance to win some excellent prizes!

Can I get tickets for both shows?

Yes! We have even staggered the show times to make it possible to attend shows back to back. Choose the time of day that works best for you Saturday or Sunday and sign up accordingly. Go from one venue right to the next, or watch a show, head home for a break, and come back later!  You will need to reserve your free tickets for EACH showtime you plan to attend.

Can I reserve specific seats for a performance?

All tickets are general admission, but when you arrive and present your ticket (mobile or printed) to our check in hosts, they will assign your group a specific seat in the venue.

How long is each show?

Each show lasts approximately 1 hour.

What time do the doors open?

Doors will open 15 min before each show.

Do children need a ticket?

Yes!  Any child who won’t be sitting on a lap for the entire performance needs a ticket.

What precautions are being taken due to Covid-19?

  • Tickets are required to ensure adequate social distance seating by family groups in each venue.
  • Bags for kids will be filled four days or more before the shows and will be distributed in ways that minimize contact.
  • All venues and bathrooms will be thoroughly disinfected in between each show.
  • We will social distance all groups in our venues and provide reminders and floor markers to help families maintain social distance from other groups while waiting.
  • Masks are recommended.
