Frequently Asked Questions
Worship Services
What should I bring?
If you would like to bring a Bible, it can be helpful for following along, but it is not required! If you don’t have a Bible of your own, see our Guest Services desk in the atrium to get your hands on one.
What should I wear?
You’ll see a diversity of clothing at any given Sunday worship service. There is no dress code, so come as you are and wear what is comfortable for you.
What can I expect at a worship service?
Our worship services feature powerful songs inspired by Scripture, along with time for prayer and important announcements. Each worship service features teaching from one of our pastors and lasts about an hour and 15 minutes.
Children’s Ministry
What programs do you have for my kids?
Valley Church offers nursery and children’s ministry—“Sunday school”—at 8:15, 9:30, and 11 am for infants through 5th graders on the lower level of Valley Church at all service times. Middle schoolers have the opportunity to meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. High school students gather on Sunday nights.
What security policies do you have in place to keep my kids safe?
In addition to our current check-in system, which requires adults to show matching parent tags for pick up, we have new secured children’s and nursery corridors.
Nursery drop-off and pick-up will take place at our singular nursery counter on the Lower Level (west entrance, closest to the Valley Stadium parking lot). The hallway from the counter to the nursery rooms, as well as the nursery rooms themselves, will only be accessible to Valley Church staff, nursery volunteers, and the nursery children themselves.
Adults will be able to bring their 4-year-olds through 5th graders to their individual classrooms for drop-off and pick-up during open periods before and after worship services. However, during the majority of a worship services, secure doors just beyond the check-in points will be locked, so only Valley Church staff, children’s ministry, volunteers, and children attending Sunday school will be in those classrooms, hallways, and restrooms. If a parent needs to pick up a child during a time period when the secure doors are closed, they will need to show their matching parent tag to be given access to enter the children’s ministry area.
Can my child join me for worship?
Of course! Your child is more than welcome to stay with you during the worship service. If you need to step out, we have plenty of options for taking a break.
