Historical Reliability of the Gospels

August 19 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Many people today believe that modern scholars have shown that only a small percentage of what the New Testament teaches about Jesus is true, if even that. Even more believe that modern scholars think that they have demonstrated this, even if they are wrong. Both beliefs are false. While certain high-profile scholars remain very skeptical, the last generation has seen a slow and steady growth in scholarship that accepts a large amount of what the Gospels have in common about the life and teachings of Jesus. This talk surveys twelve main reasons why these encouraging developments have occurred. It is designed to bolster the faith of those who already are Christian and challenge others to consider taking Jesus’ claims more seriously.
