How did Jesus impact your life during your high school years? While I grew up in a Christian home, my Faith didn’t start to become my own until I was in high school, and had to start learning things for myself and asking hard questions, defending my faith and holding true to what I know. Being a high schooler came with lots of highs and lots of lows, but now, almost being on the other side of this crazy roller coaster ride, I can wholeheartedly say that I had Jesus by my side every step of the way, and without Him, I would be so lost. My year has not ended quite as planned, but I know and I will continue to trust that God has a bigger plan and that he knows my story, so I just need to let Him keep writing it.

Who would you personally like to thank? I would like to thank my family. Thank you mom and dad, Monica and Jared Roy, for giving me a home built on the love of God, and for being Christ like role models for me to look up to. I thank you both for being my number one supporters, for never giving up on me, loving me immensely and most importantly, showing me God love, and helping me walk with him everyday! Forever, Grace
Next I want to thank Dan, and Mackenzie as they have played an important role these last few years of helping me to strengthen my relationship with Christ. Valley Church’s High School Ministry has been a great way for me to get to know people, share experiences, laugh together, play games, dig deep into Gods word, share my story and so much more! There were many exciting moments and life long memories, but also many tears and hands to hold as it has been a place for me to be vulnerable, honest and real. I will miss you both so much! Thank you for being my high school pastors!
I would like to thank Jill Reding, and Mackenzie Brown for leading my small group and for pouring into me so much throughout my time in High School Ministry. I am incredibly thankful for the words of wisdom that you both brought into my life, and for being Godly examples for me to look up to! All of the hugs, late night calls, get togethers, words of encouragement, texts, small group time, and so much love, makes this “goodbye” so much harder! I will miss you both dearly and hope to stay in touch even when we may be hours apart! Love you Jill and Mackenzie!
I would like to thank all of the senior girls in my group! You have been such a great group of girls to have gone through high school together with- and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of smart, talented, joyful, Jesus loving, Compassionate, and accepting young ladies! I hope that each of you knows just how much I love you, and how much I am going to miss you! Thank you for always being there for me, and for loving me even in my brokenness and messy, crazy life.
I would also like to thank my church family and anyone poured into my life here at Valley, because I would not be where I am today without each and every one of you! I have been incredibly loved on and supported throughout the last few years and was welcomed into the family from day one at Valley! Thank you Valley Church!

How did Jesus impact your life during your high school years?  During high school, I learned that the uncertainty and stress about the future will fade away when you place it in God’s hands. Proverbs 4:5-8 says “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore him with undivided devotion and avoid everything that’s wrong. Then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for.” I learned that trusting Jesus will allow everything to fall into place. There are many different paths to take, but making decisions based on faith will lead you to the right one.
